Coal fumes kill two maids, Egyptian dies in septic tank

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: An Egyptian expatriate died while three others sustained injuries when they fell into a septic tank in Jabriya area while cleaning it, says Al- Seyassah. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about four laborers trapped inside a septic tank in Jabriya area, securitymen, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the location. They rescued the victims to discover one of them died due to inhalation of toxic gases. The corpse of the victim was referred to the Forensics Department while the other injured victims were referred to Mubarak Hospital for treatment. Investigations revealed that the victims were cleaning the septic tank when they fell into it and were unable to climb out due to the toxic gases inside the septic tank.

2 maids dead: Two housemaids died due to inhalation of burning charcoal fumes inside a livestock pen in Kabad area, reports Al- Seyassah daily. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a Kuwaiti citizen about his two housemaids lying unconscious inside a room in his livestock pen in Kabad area, securitymen rushed to the location with paramedics. Paramedics examined them to discover they had died due to inhalation of the charcoal fumes that were left burning while they were sleeping. The corpses were referred to the Forensics Department.

Fire in palace: The Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah revealed that fire broke out in one of the rooms in the guest buildings of Bayan Palace Thursday morning. However, no casualties or injuries were reported but material loss was incurred. He indicated that Kuwait Fire Service Directorate has formed an investigation committee to determine the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, a source from KFSD explained that a minor fire broke out in a room in the Failaka building of Bayan Palace. The fire was extinguished in record time before it spread to other rooms.
