Political disease of previous govts to resurface again: MP ‘New government does not meet expectation’

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: MP Faisal Al-Duwaisan has said the new government does not meet expectation, and the political disease of previous governments will resurface again, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. He said the step of expanding the circle of lawmakers in the cabinet guarantees genuine collaboration between the executive and legislative authorities, which would foil the demands of those planning to ask for popular government and premier on Jan 15, and yield more stability for the government. He stressed “it is better to recruit more MPs as ministers, particularly after the failure in technocrat experience, and discrimination and bias in the recruitment of ministers”.

According to Al-Duwaisan, the Prime Minister once said he would follow the steps of Sheikh Saad who was in the habit of forcing the ministers who demonstrated poor performance to resign, but we have yet to see the reality. He reiterated the people of Kuwait are fed up with the parliament and the government, and extremely dissatisfied with the current state of affairs.
