Offering immoral services on Net - 13 expats arrested

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 1: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested 13 expatriates of various nationalities for posting their pictures on a website offering immoral services for young couples on social networking sites, reports Al- Anba daily. A security source said personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department in coordination with the Cyber Crimes Department put the accounts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook of the suspects under surveillance who had posted their partly naked pictures offering immoral services for both sexes. A source said those arrested are Egyptians, Syrians and Turkish.

Absconder nabbed: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti man who had been sentenced in absentia to 17 years imprisonment for possessing drugs, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily added, the suspect was initially arrested for reckless driving in Farwaniya. Police checked the vehicle and found a quantity of heroin, methamphetamine, known locally as ‘shabu’ and money. The contraband and the suspect have been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.
