KUWAIT CITY, Dec 31: Two Kuwaitis evaded arrest after half a million narcotic pills, 50 grams of the drug ‘Shabew’, weapon, rifle for hunting and a several rounds of ammunition in their various shapes were confiscated from their den. The operation was conducted under the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister Sheikh Mohamed Al-Khalid, and Acting Undersecretary of Drug Control General Department Lieutenant General Suleiman Al- Fahad, led by Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhamid Al-Awadhi and Director General for Drug Control Brigadier Saleh Al-Ghanam. In a press release, the Interior Ministry said an undercover agent was tipped-off about two Kuwaitis who were trafficking in narcotics, and after verifying information, the department secured warrant from the Public Prosecution and raided a livestock pen where the suspects were hiding. However, the two suspects managed to escape with the help of a third suspect. The contraband was recovered after the officers had conducted a search inside the livestock pen. Statement added the two suspects were using the livestock pen on rent basis for illicit activities where drugs they had smuggled were packaged in small plastic bags for sweets, labeled Lexus 2014. The contraband was referred to the concerned authority, and investigation is ongoing to arrest the suspects.

Cop in car theft: The Farwaniya police have arrested an unidentified policeman for stealing cars, dismantling the parts and selling them, reports Al-Rai daily. According to a security source the arrest came after police received several complaints from several motorists. Intensive investigations conducted by securitymen led to the suspect. The Interior Ministry had earlier suspended the man from work for involvement in thefts. Police reports showed the suspect dismantled the cars inside the livestock pen of his father in Kabad. At the time of the arrest the suspect was driving a stolen car. Police have also seized from his car an air gun, batons, stun gun, fake police IDs and stolen car numbers plates. Police say the suspect was also involved in robbing pedestrians under threat.
