AK-47s found on two youths held drunk

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Jahra security officers arrested two youths for consuming alcohol and for possessing two Kalashnikovs While patrolling in Subiya, the officers noticed the suspicious movement of a vehicle, so they signaled for the driver to pull over. When the officers demanded for the identification documents of the driver and his companion - both youths, they smelt alcohol on the latter’s breath. The officers also checked the vehicle where they found two Kalashnikovs. The suspects were then referred to the concerned security department for prosecution. In an unrelated incident, two GCC nationals were apprehended in Kheitan for consuming alcohol. The arrest happened when a team of Farwaniya securitymen patrolled the area.

Power cables stolen: An officer from the Ministry of Electricity and Water recently reported with police that an unknown person stole electric cables worth more than KD5,000 from the power generator in Jahra. The officer told police the suspect broke into the premises and took the cables. Fingerprints were lifted from the area to identify the suspects. A case was registered and police are now looking for the thieves
