Bedoun Woman says not molested, will not complain Mentally ill woman kept in farm for 4 days

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 26: A 38- year-old Bedoun woman, who is suffering from mental illness, refused to file a case against an Egyptian man who took her to a stable where she stayed for four days; affirming that her family asked her to leave their house, reports Al-Seyassah daily. A security source vehemently denied a report published earlier that an official from the Ministry of Interior interfered in the case, so the woman was forced not to file a complaint against the Egyptian.

According to the source, the Operations Room at the ministry received a call from an undisclosed person who saw the woman shouting, weeping and singing on the road in Jahra. A security team then rushed to the location and took the woman to the police station for interrogation. During preliminary investigations, the officers found out the woman is suffering from mental problems and she was taken to the Psychiatric Hospital eight months ago for treatment.

She told the officers that her family threw her out of their house and she had no place to stay. The officers then searched for her family’s number in her telephone when they chanced upon the number of the Egyptian who was summoned to the station for questioning. He disclosed he found the woman on the road four days ago and took her to a stable in Jahra when she told him that her family asked her to leave their house.

The woman told police that she will not file a complaint against the Egyptian, asserting he did not molest her as he merely provided her with shelter at the time. A case was registered and investigations are still ongoing to uncover the truth.
