Bank worker, wife caught for trafficking in humans Woman’s car stoned

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: Police have arrested an Arab employee of a bank and his wife for trafficking in humans, reports Al-Shahed daily. A security source said personnel from the General Department of Immigration received information that a couple was inciting housemaids to run away from their sponsors, gave them shelter and then offered them to work for other families and as salesgirls in shops. Acting on such information and armed with a warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, securitymen raided two apartments and arrested the couple and scores of runaway maids.

Woman’s car stoned: An unknown individual threw stones at a Kuwaiti woman’s vehicle, breaking its back window. According to security sources, when the woman was driving down Arabian Gulf Street, an individual riding a motorbike began chasing her. He insisted that she should take his mobile number but she refused. He followed her until she reached her house in Al-Salam area. When she parked the vehicle, he threw stones at her vehicle, causing the back window of the vehicle to shatter. He then fled from the location. After requesting help from her father, they went to the police station of the area where the Kuwaiti woman provided securitymen with descriptions of the suspect and his motorbike. A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, a Bedoun youth was arrested for setting fire to a Kuwaiti woman’s vehicle. According to security sources, the Kuwaiti woman informed securitymen of Saad Al-Abdullah Police Station that the suspect set her vehicle on fire in front of her house. Securitymen arrested the suspect and took necessary legal action against him.
