Ports authority to implement fingerprint system KPA to hire 30 devices, 30 surveillance cameras for 3 yrs

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 13: Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) will start implementing the fingerprint attendance system on employees early 2014, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The daily quoting sources said KPA intends to hire 30 fingerprint devices and 30 surveillance cameras for three years.

The equipment will be distributed to all Kuwaiti ports affiliated to KPA, including Shuwaikh, Doha and Shuaiba, in addition to its offices. The step is in line with the decision issued by the Ministers Council obliging all ministries and government agencies to apply Civil Service Commission regulations on all employees defying the fingerprint attendance system.

Sources reiterated the surveillance camera will be installed on each machine to control and prevent manipulation.
