Owner sought as Customs seizes 2,580 bottles liquor

 KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: Directorate General for Drug Control (DGDC) confiscated a container packed with about 2,580 bottles of ‘Red Label’ liquor at Shuaiba Port. According to security sources, when the Director General of DGDC Brigadier Saleh Al-Ghannam received information about a container with liquor bottles arriving in Kuwait from a neighboring country, they formed a team for investigation under the guidance of the Assistant Undersecretary for Criminal Security Affairs Major General Abdulhameed Al- Awadhi.

After the container arrived at Shuaiba Port, the team checked its details to discover it was addressed to a particular individual under a company name. However, no one arrived at the port to receive the container. With the help of the customs officers, they opened the container to discover about 2,580 bottles of ‘Red Label’ liquor. The contraband has been referred to the concerned authorities and investigations are ongoing to find the suspect responsible for smuggling such large quantity of liquor into the country.
