Kuwait 3rd at Asian Karate

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7, (KUNA): Kuwaiti Karate team placed third rank at the 12th Senior and 13th Junior Asian Karate Championships, which concluded in Dubai, UAE on Saturday and saw participation by 23 Asian national teams. The Kuwaiti team attained 12 medals, including two gold, four silver, and six bronze, Kuwait Karate Federation (KKF) said in a press statement, indicating that Japan came first with 16 golden medals, while Iran came second place with 12 golden medals.

For his part, Menahi Al-Fadhli, vice president of KKF and head of administrative team at the championship, lauded the team’s achievement at the Asian Championship, which is one of the biggest Asian Karate events in the world, as they competed with some of the best players in Asia. He expressed his congratulations to the President of KKF Sheikh Khalid Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, the players, and the team’s coaching and administrative teams for positively representing Kuwaiti sports, wishing at the same time further achievements in order to highlight the aptitude of Kuwaiti Karate in various sports arenas.
