Asian nabbed as container filled with 2,200 bottles liquor seized Iraq extradites Lebanese duo wanted for theft in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, May 8: An Asian expatriate was arrested in connection with four containers filled with 2,200 bottles of liquor which Customs at Abdullah Port intercepted in coordination with the Drug Control General Department (DCGD).
The contraband worth thousands of Kuwaiti dinars was seized following a tip-off anti-drug department received about its arrival.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department are said to have raided and seized the four containers in which the contraband was hidden. The suspect with the items has since been referred to the concerned authority.

Duo extradited: The Iraqi Interpol upon a request from its Kuwaiti counterpart is said to have handed over two Lebanese brothers to the Kuwaiti authorities who had escaped to Baghdad five years ago upon stealing money from a minister after forging documents, reports Al-Rai daily.
The exchange of wanted men between the two countries is said to be the first of its kind since the liberation of Kuwait from Iraqi occupation several years ago.
It has also been reported the brothers were arrested by the Iraqi police while attempting to cross into Iraq with the help of some Iraqis.
They are also believed to have served jail term in Iraq. The daily added, the exchange of prisoners between the two countries shows goodwill towards cooperation.

23 sheep stolen:
Police are looking for three thieves who allegedly broke into a livestock pen in Salmi and stole 23 heads of cattle, reports Al-Rai daily.
The shepherd told his Kuwaiti sponsor the men came in a red 4-wheel drive, beat him and escaped with the sheep.
A case has been registered with the Taima Police Station.

Two criminals nabbed: Police have arrested two Kuwaiti criminals and handed them over to the concerned authorities, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
A police patrol on routine duty saw the men driving a car with old number plate in a suburb of Sabah Al-Salem and ordered them to stop. The men ignored and continued driving.
Police chased the two suspects and at the same time called back up support and forced the men to pull over in Sabahiya. The men reportedly abandoned the car and continued running but they were chased and arrested.
Police have seized from the men’s car drugs, stolen cell phones and license plates of cars in addition to sharp objects.

Theft at oil company: Police are looking for unidentified persons for breaking into a store belonging to an oil company in Mina Abdullah and stealing pipes and spare parts, reports a local Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit.

Drunkard in Ferrari
: The Hawalli police have arrested an unidentified person for driving under the influence of alcohol, reports Al-Shahed daily.
A security source said a police patrol on duty in Hawalli suspected a reckless motorist driving a Ferrari and ordered him to pull over.
While issuing a citation police allegedly got the smell of alcohol. Securitymen then checked the vehicle and seized a bottle of alcohol from the car.
The drunkard and the booze have been referred to the concerned authorities.
