Egyptian accuses wife of infidelity, illegitimate pregnancy
KUWAIT CITY, March 21: An Egyptian expatriate lodged a complaint against his wife at the Public Prosecution, accusing her of infidelity, forgery of marriage certificate and illegitimate pregnancy out of wedlock.
The plaintiff lawyer Yousef Hussein explained that the couple had a baby girl a year ago but later the couple separated due to some irreconcilable differences when the woman left home with the baby to an unknown destination. Eventually, she filed a case against her husband, who was unaware of her or the baby’s whereabouts.
The lawyer added that his client saw his daughter with a strange woman, who he later realized was a friend of his sister in-law. When he explained to the woman that the baby she was holding was his daughter, she told him that the baby’s mother left the baby in her custody before traveling to Egypt in order to terminate a pregnancy. She revealed to him that the woman had sex with several men and did not know who among them had impregnated her.
She also revealed that the woman registered the pregnancy in a hospital with a fake marriage certificate that carried the picture of another man. A sample of the test conducted on the woman indicated that she had used contraceptive to avoid pregnancy.
The lawyer demanded for penalty against the woman based on Article 195 of the Penal Code.
In another case, the Criminal Court has acquitted political activist Mohammed Al-Blehais of offending HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The court also adjourned until April 11 the hearing on a similar case against Twitter user Saqer Al-Hashash.
Case files indicate the State Security Department sued Al-Blehais for issuing statements deemed offensive to the Amir. Both the accused were arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution which ordered their release after interrogation on the alleged defamatory statements they uttered against the Amir. They were allowed to post bail of KD 1,000 each.
