143 illegals held in Kabad ‘Population nears 4 mln’

KUWAIT CITY, March 21: A team of security officers on Thursday carried out a massive campaign in Kabad against those who violated the Residency Law, leading to the arrest of 143 expatriates found to be staying illegally in the country.  They were referred to the concerned security department for the necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, the Central Statistics Administration recently released its 2013 report on Kuwait, including its geographical, social and cultural domains, reports Al-Watan daily.

The statistical report includes information on the climate and population that now stands at 3,065,850  — 1,089,969 Kuwaitis and 1,975,881 non-Kuwaitis.

The report also tackled different sources of wealth in the country, such as oil, agriculture and livestock, in addition to foreign trade particularly imports and exports, communication services available to the people and the educational system.  It also provided other vital information like the telephone numbers of ministries, hospitals, embassies, banks, clubs and other public service institutions.
