Processing of driving licenses on hold
KUWAIT CITY, March 21: The Information Systems General Department temporarily suspended the processing of driving license and learners license applications, starting from 2:00 pm Thursday to 6:00 am Sunday, to pave the way for regular maintenance works.
In a press statement from the Interior Ministry Thursday, the department explained the maintenance work will also affect procedures in the General Traffic Department and the Service Centers General Department.
The statement asserted the ministry spares no effort in improving services and facilities to ensure the completion of transactions within the shortest possible time in the interest of the public.
Meanwhile, several employees of the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) cancelled the sit-in slated for Sunday after the management agreed to grant their demand, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources.
Sources said the employees had earlier announced their plan to hold a sit-in on Sunday to express their grievances. The employees have repeatedly demanded for parking spaces without any response from the management, so they decided to stage a strike. After announcing their plan, the management had a dialogue with the employees and promised to address their problem, sources added.
