Cookies n cream ice cream
Ingredients:
- 5 egg yolks;
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided;
- 1-3/4 cups heavy cream;
- 3/4 cup whole milk;
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt;
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract;
- 1-1/4 cups chopped oreo cookies.
Method:
Whisk egg yolks and 1/4 cup sugar in a bowl. Warm the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar, cream, milk and salt in a saucepan. When the mixture begins to simmer, slowly drizzle it into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly. Stir the mixture with a heatproof spatula. Pour the custard, stir in the vanilla extract. Place the mixture in the refrigerator. Churn the ice cream in your ice cream maker. Once the ice cream is ready, layer it into your freezer-safe container.
