‘Imams not allowed to practice another profession’ Awqaf mulls legal action
KUWAIT CITY, March 16: Assistant Undersecretary for Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Waleed Shuaib said Imams are not allowed to practice another profession; otherwise, the necessary legal action will be taken against them, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Shuaib warned any Imam proven to have violated the directive will be fired. He said the Imams and muezzins receive a number of privileges, including rent, accommodation and education allowances, in addition to their high salaries.
