Gulf Bank hails first soccer tournament Dawry w Kaas win season event

KUWAIT CITY, March 14: Gulf Bank has applauded the success of its first Gulf Bank football tournament, which was organized by the Bank’s internal communications team to help support and strengthen its relationship with its employees. The Gulf Bank football tournament comprised of 128 Bank employees divided into 16 teams. The season began on Jan 20, lasting until Feb 21, 2013, and matches were played at Salmiya, Bneid El Gar and Shaab Goal Courts. The final match took place on Feb 21 in Shaab Court, where Mrs Salma Al-Hajjaj, Gulf Bank’s General Manager - HR and Fawzy Al-Thunayan, General Manager - Board Affairs announced the Dawry w Kaas team as the tournament champions and handed them a commemorative cup as well as KD 100 gift voucher from Eureka for each player to mark their achievement.


Commenting on the success of this event, Fatemah Al-Sabah — Executive Manager, Human Resources at Gulf Bank said: “We were very impressed by the motivation and drive of our colleagues who participated in our first internal football tournament. Their drive and passion for the sport helped us organize an entertaining and competitive tournament. I would like to thank everyone for their contribution towards making this inaugural season such a success and congratulate Dawry w Kaas on becoming our first Gulf Bank Football tournament champions. It is clear from this initial season that there is great enthusiasm to continue the tournament next year and we look forward to developing it in the future.” The Gulf Bank football tournament is a football competition for all male Gulf Bank employees, giving them the opportunity to participate in football tournaments and play as a team, which supports one of the Bank’s core values: Teamwork.
