Doctor in trouble for faking report
KUWAIT CITY, March 13: Attorney Faisal Al-Otaibi has filed a complaint at the Public Prosecution on the alleged falsification of the medical test results of an expatriate woman at the Preventive Medicine Department.
According to the lawyer, his client was working with a trading company and she needed to carry out some tests for the government to determine her health condition prior to the renewal of her visa. The test results showed the woman was medically fit, but she later became ill and was hospitalized. The company was aware of the hospitalization, but her sponsor reported her as absconding.
The sponsor later contacted the Preventive Medicine Department to recommend deportation of the woman due to the illness and keep her in the detention cell until completion of the necessary procedures. The lawyer visited the director of the Preventive Medicine Department to know the truth, but the officials were hell bent on deporting the woman. He revealed the head of the director’s office informed him that the Ministry of Health has agreed on the deportation. He added the doctor, who signed the certificate stating that the woman is medically fit, is now facing falsification charges for giving the woman clean bill of health that enabled her to process the visa.
