The girl is taken for burial after funeral prayers
Student died of heart attack: principal Minister Hajraf tenders his resignation to PM

KUWAIT CITY, March 13: In the sense of moral and political obligation, the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf tendered his resignation to HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah few hours after the death of a Kuwaiti student was reported at Al-Wusta School in Farwaniya.
A source disclosed that contradictory information have been trailing the cause of the student’s death. While information gathered from officials of the Education Ministry and its Interior counterpart affirmed that the girl died of natural causes instigated by heart attack, reports leaking from other sources indicate the girl died after she was beaten by a teacher.

Following an extensive educational security meeting in Farwaniya Educational Area and based on preliminary investigation, Al-Hajraf affirmed the girl did not die as a result of beating by the teacher.
He urged citizens to be patient and wait for outcome of the post mortem that will be completed within 48 hours. He also left the issue of his resignation to the discretion of the Prime Minister.

Commenting on the issue, principal of the school Muna Al-Oraifan said the student died of heart attack, noting the deceased girl did not show any sign of illness and did not slump immediately after the teacher hit her with a book.

According to the Director of Farwaniya Health Region, the student arrived in the hospital dead, noting she suffered from heart related diseases. However, the autopsy will reveal the real cause of death.
Meanwhile, parliamentary sources have attributed the resignation of Education Minister to threats by MP Kamel Al-Awadhi to grill him and expose what he calls “education earthquake” supported by audiovisual documents, indicating it will be difficult for the minister to remain in his post thereafter.
