‘Adamant’ officer refuses to remove car locks after fine being paid

KUWAIT CITY, March 12: A First Sergeant from the Hawalli Traffic Department has reportedly locked the wheels of several cars which were parked behind the Hawalli Court although there was no sign ‘No Parking’ sign in the area, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The traffic policeman reportedly refused to remove the locks on the cars even after the owners of the cars paid the fines and insisted they must wait for 24 hours. This, he said, are orders he has received from his superiors.

Home towed away: Police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing a prefabricated home belonging to a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources the home was atop a trailer truck which was parked in front of the villa of the Kuwaiti in Mina Abdullah.
The Kuwaiti has filed a complaint with the area police. In his complaint he said according to the guard the home was towed by an unidentified person.

By hook or by crook: Police are investigating how an unidentified bedoun managed to get married to an unidentified young Kuwaiti woman without the knowledge of her family, reports Al-Rai daily.
However, a security source said the woman’s father had earlier filed a missing persons report on his daughter and when police finally found her, she was living with her bedoun husband.
According to reliable sources, the woman eloped with the boyfriend and got married in Syria.
It has also been reported the youth had earlier requested for the hand of the woman but the family of the latter had turned down the request.
