Nepali maid says victim of torture
KUWAIT CITY, March 11: A Nepali housemaid, accompanied by a lawyer from her embassy, has filed a complaint with the Salwa Police Station accusing her sponsor (a well-known actor) and his wife of torturing her, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The housemaid said the couple beat her and tortured her and unable to bear the pain she escaped from the house.
The maid has submitted a medical report stating she was subjected to torture. Police referred the woman to Forensics and summoned the sponsors for interrogation.
Meanwhile, a Kuwait woman has filed a complaint with the police accusing her brothers of kidnapping her husband, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The complaint has been filed with the Fahd Al-Ahmad Police Station. In her complaint the woman said the brothers visited their home and left with her husband. The brothers will be summoned for interrogation.
In another incident, the Jahra police have arrested two people for stealing iron rods from the Al-Udairi Fire Range belonging to the Ministry of Defence, reports Al-Rai daily.
The thieves, who were caught red-handed, have been referred to the concerned authorities. Police have seized from them a gas cutter and an oxygen cylinder.
