Motorist knocks down, kills Indian Many hurt in Monday accidents

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: An Indian in his early 50s died and many other individuals were injured in traffic accidents on Monday.
The Indian expatriate died on the spot when a speeding motorist hit him while he was trying to cross Sulaibikhat Motorway. Acting on information, a team of rescue men rushed to the scene, and remains of the victim were referred to Forensics by Criminal Evidences Men. A case was registered.
In a similar incident, a 47-year old Lebanese woman was knocked down and severely injured by a motorist in Sabah Al-Nasser area. Paramedics were on hand to carry the injured woman to the Farwaniya Hospital for medical attention.

Also, an Egyptian expatriate was run over near Ferdous and Ardiya areas. He was referred to the Farwaniya Hospital by Medical Emergency Men for treatment.
Two cars collided in Shuwaikh area, near Banks Street, and resulted in injuries to a youth. Paramedics rushed to the scene and carried the injured youth to Sabah Hospital when the Operations Room received report about the accident.

In another incident, two citizens sustained various degrees of injuries when their vehicles collided on Jahra Motorway. The injured people are since receiving treatment in Jahra Hospital.
Meanwhile, fire broke out in a vehicle on the Sixth Ring Road due to an electric short. No casualties were recorded, although the eruption resulted in material losses.
And, a Kuwaiti citizen suffered burns in his right hand while trying to put out a fire that engulfed his vehicle in Hawalli area. Paramedics referred the injured citizen to Mubarak Hospital, while firemen doused the flames. Plenary investigation revealed that the fire was caused by an electric short. A case was registered.
