Al-Babtain launches Nissan-Sentra2013 New sedan offers more efficiency, comfort

KUWAIT CITY, March 11: An all-new Nissan-Sentra2013, the latest compact sedan model with its distinguished and unique features was launched at the Al-Rai showroom of the Al-Babtain Group, the sole authorized dealer for Nissan vehicles in Kuwait on Monday at a packed press conference. Mohamed Shalaby, Al Babtain Group’s Chief Operating Officer, unveiling the new Nissan Sentra2013, said the launch of the new luxurious compact sedan car takes Kuwait’s car market to a whole new level as it offers an unprecedented experience and more efficient and comfortable features for drivers and passengers. He added that the car provides clients who are always looking for the best, with more than they have ever expected in terms of space, fuel efficiency and design. He expressed his confidence that the new Nissan Sentra2013 will be a great success as it comes with the ultimate features that meet everybody’s needs. The new Nissan Sentra2013, spacious and comfortable for all ages, will be fast if the driver is in need for speed and can carry the entire family for a luxurious ride.

On the other hand, Chief Executive Officer of Al Babtain Group Saleh Al Babtain while welcoming the audience said the Al Babtain Group is constantly working hard to maintain its lead in Kuwait’s car dealership, always doing its best to meet all the needs of its clients and never missing any opportunity to provide them with more than they expect.
Sentra is Nissan’s newest model in the 1.6-litre to 1.8-litre compact sedan segment offering the spaciousness and comfort of cars usually found in that segment. Positioned to give an accessible premium experience, the Nissan Sentra2013 will appeal to the aspirational, smart and savvy compact sedan buyer.
The Nissan Sentra2013 launch continues Nissan’s product onslaught as the fifth all-new vehicle introduced in a 12-month period. It is however the 13th generation Nissan sedan in its model line globally and available across the Middle East from first quarter of 2013.

The new Nissan Sentra2013, available in seven colours including Solid white, Pearl white, Silver, Phantom grey, Black, Red, Brownish grey, comes with a seductive design with high-end details such as LED accented headlamps and tail lamps and upscale interior craftsmanship as well as unexpected spaciousness including class-leading legroom and boot space.
The dual zone climate control, intelligent key and rearview camera all put it in a class of its own in terms of convenience. The new Nissan Sentra over delivers on basics due to the 10 percent reduction on maintenance cost and class-leading fuel economy of 6.2 litres/100km and 6.7litres/100km for 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre engines respectively.  It comes with highly efficient 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre engines and next-generation Xtronic CVT delivering optimal performance as well as seamless connectivity including Bluetooth and satellite navigation.

It also boasts great emphasis on exterior and interior design quality compared with competitive vehicles in the compact sedan segment. Externally, its well-balanced exterior proportions with characteristic lines and sculpted panels convey a ‘professional’ persona, a feel which is carried into the interior. Comfortable seats, high quality materials and modern cabin design combined with abundant technology and features, are immediately striking as the driver or passenger enters the car.
Built on a new platform Sentra’s character line runs from the front fenders, along the sides, and finishes at the sculpted taillights and trunk lid, giving the new Sentra enhanced outward visibility for passengers. Other exterior features include chrome door handles and accents, door mirrors with integrated turn signals, and rear spoiler.

Rear seat legroom is among the largest in class and immediately apparent to occupants, even with the front seats in the rear-most position.  Standard interior features include front and rear door pockets, front center console with padded armrest and cupholders, rear seat armrest with cupholders, air conditioning with in-cabin microfilter, tilt and telescopic steering column, power windows with driver’s one-touch auto up/down with auto reverse, power door locks with auto-locking feature, two auxiliary 12-volt power outlets, remote keyless entry and remote trunk and fuel-filler door releases. The standard audio system is an AM/FM/CD system with four speakers.  Others include a 4-speaker AM/FM/CD system with 4.3-inch color display, available 5.8-inch screen, USB connection for iPod(r) and other compatible devices; and available Bluetooth(r) Hands-free Phone System.

As expected from a ground-up redesign, the new Sentra features revised engines and new-generation CVT transmission. The Sentra’s 96kW (130hp) 1.8-litre engine offers a longer stroke than typical engines in its class, resulting in improved combustion speed and efficiency. Both it and the 85kW (113hp) engine are DOHC 4-cylinder units, equipped with a twin Continuously Variable Timing Control (CVTC) system which modulates both the intake and exhaust valve opening time (similar to that used on the flagship Nissan Maxima). The engines’ internal friction has been reduced, improving efficiency. In addition, the valve springs are shaped similar to a beehive, with a smaller diameter towards the top — reducing inertia weight, improving valve train efficiency and smoothing engine operation. The new Sentra also features an independent strut front suspension with stabilizer bar, torsion beam rear axle with integrated stabilizer bar, power-assisted vented front disc/rear drum braking system (4-wheel disc brakes are available), and vehicle-speed-sensitive electric power steering.  Available wheels and tires include 15-inch steel wheel with full covers with 195/65R15 size all-season tires or 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with 195/60R16 all-season tires.
