Kuwait maul Qatar 3-0 at GCC Tennis championship Saudi Arabia down UAE
KUWAIT CITY, March 11: Kuwait tennis teams continued their quest for victory in the GCC Tennis Championship for 2013 in front of a large audience. In attendance were the chairman of GCC Tennis Organizing Committee Abdulreda Jassem Al-Ghareeb and members of the board of Kuwait Tennis Union, in addition to Gulf Tennis delegations, managers and players from Kuwaiti sports clubs. Kuwaiti Mohammed Al-Ghareeb led his team to victory by beating Qatari contender Jaber Mohammed Al-Mutawa by 1/6, 3/6, while his brother Ali Al-Ghareeb won by 1/6, 1/6 against Qatari player Mousa Shenan Zayed.
The Kuwaiti doubles team consisting of Mohammed Al-Ghareeb and Hassan Al-Mousa defeated their Qatari counterparts Mousa Shenan Zayed and Jaber Al-Mutawa by 3/6, 3/6. In all, Kuwait beat Qatar 3/0, while Saudi Arabia thrashed the United Arab Emirates by 3/0, and Oman won 2/1 against Bahrain. Director of the Championship Ahmad Al-Qallaf hailed the high technical advancement of GCC teams participating in the championship, and hopes the GCC delegations enjoy their time in Kuwait. He also thanked all authorities that played various roles to support and patronize the championship, especially Public Authority for Sports and Youth (PAYS) and Yarmouk Sports Club.
