KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Chris McDougall, the Australian record-holder for trouble-free jumps, wowed spectators as he jumped from the top of Al-Hamra Tower in Kuwait City, on March 8.

Organizers estimated nearly 4,000 people attended the event ‘Sky Fall Al-Hamra 414’, which was part of the National and Liberation Day celebrations, to witness the spine-tingling ‘free fall’ stunt by McDougall.

This is the first time such an event is being held in Kuwait and the landmark chosen was Al-Hamra Tower as it is considered the tallest building in Kuwait with a height of 414 meters above sea level.

Chris McDougall holds the record for trouble-free jumps with 2,600 base jumps and 10,000 sky jumps from various landmarks around the world. His free fall from the top of Al-Hamra Tower lasted for about ten seconds after which he deployed his parachute.

He is set to train Kuwait’s skydiving champion Mohammad Noori Al-Rifai on base-jumping, who will also jump from the top of Al-Hamra Tower after the completion of his training to become the first Kuwaiti base jumper.
