KUWAIT CITY, March 7: The General Security Department at Ministry of Interior launched impromptu security campaigns recently at the fruit and vegetable market in Sulaibiya, during which 531 individuals were arrested.
The campaigns were launched based on directives by high-ranking officials from Ministry of Interior, Immigration Department, General Traffic Department and other authorities.
The suspects were arrested for non-possession of valid residencies, for working under different sponsors and for working with residency under Article 20.
The arrested individuals were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
The Media Security Department of Ministry of Interior confirmed in a press statement that such intensive campaigns will continue to arrest violators of law and to maintain the security of the nation.
