I am an Afghan and want to know when the Kuwait government will lift the work visa ban on Afghan nationals? I have been waiting for the last three years for this ban to go.

Answer: We can’t give you a timeframe for this ban to be lifted because this is a government foreign policy decision linked to the security of the country.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (which issues the work permits) does not have any authority in this case nor is it linked in any way to the country’s Labor Law.
While enforcing this ban on Afghanistan and five other countries Kuwait’s government had announced that the ban was linked to the security situations in those country. It has repeatedly said it will lift the ban when it feels that “the time is right”.
