MP Al-Fezai presents query to health minister on ‘Yiaco’ Al-Tameemi submits number of queries to oil minister

KUWAIT CITY, March 1: MP Nawaf Al-Fezai has presented a query to the Minister of Health Dr Mohammed Al-Haifi about Yiaco Company that provides laboratory and X-ray services to patients in Ahmadi area, reports Al-Anba daily.

He wants to know if the company from 2006 to 2012 had asked for KD 16 million to perform medical tests on patients outside the Ahmadi health zone, and whether the Finance Department at Ministry of Health performed its audit role?

Has a technical committee been formed by the Health Ministry to carry out these demands? If yes, I want a copy of the report of Finance Department and that of the committee formed for this purpose, he stressed.

Did the Legal Department affiliated to the Health Ministry address the Fatwa and Legislation about this issue? If yes, Al-Fezai required official letters they exchanged in this domain.

Meanwhile, MP Abdullah Al-Tameemi has submitted a number of queries to the Minister of Oil Hani Hussein in relation to the managing directors in oil sector. He wants to know mechanism for selecting managing directors in Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and its subsidiaries?

What prompted the previous mechanism of selection to be changed? What are the new criteria for selecting the top officials? Is there any common committee formed to select deputies for the managing directors? What is the role of the managing director in charge of selecting deputies for managing directors, he inquired. He also asked for the names of each manager in the oil sector and their achievements.

Meanwhile, MP Dr Yousef Al-Zalzalah, Head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee disclosed HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah has given the directives to deal with loans’ interests earlier than April 1, 2008.

He explained the premier held a meeting in the presence of Parliament Speaker Ali Al-Rashid and the Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali and agreed on resolving the file of loans’ interests soon.

Al-Shimali has been asked to coordinate with the Parliamentary Finance Committee to carry out the deal, Al-Tameemi added, indicating a new draft law of 13 articles has been prepared and the lawmakers will vote on it during Tuesday session. He reiterated the draft law includes all debtors registered before April 2008.
