KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28:  The Criminal Court postponed until May 12 the hearing on case number 179/2012 filed against a Ministry of Defense official who has been accused of raping a 28-year-old Kuwaiti woman.
Case files indicate the plaintiff received a call from the defendant regarding the purchase of some pets.  He invited her to his house to complete the deal but he detained her for two days, beat her and raped her.
Attorney Faisal Al-Otaibi, the woman’s lawyer, confirmed that his client will attend the May 12 court session and they will demand for severe sanctions on the defendant.  He added his client had earlier received a call from an influential person who tried to bribe her to withdraw the case but she stood firm by her decision to sue the official.
