KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: Police have arrested a Kuwaiti youth for tearing the hijab and clothes of an unidentified Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to a security source the woman is 32 years old and the incident happened when she was about to park her car in the parking lot of a commercial mall off the Sixth Ring Road.

The woman in her complaint to the police said the suspect is known to her. She befriended him because he showed a lot of interest in her but when she became aware of his motives she dumped him when he forced her to have fun with his friends.

She added, he kept on calling her and she refused to answer his calls. This infuriated him and he attacked her in the parking lot of the complex.

A passerby offered his oqal to the woman to cover her body and called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.

The arrest came after the woman provided police the details about the man and his car.
