Is the issuance based on Wasta or is the ban still in place?

I am working in a ministry and my salary is above KD 500. I submitted my application for the visa of my wife on 14 January and they told me to check it after two weeks. But when I went there after that period, they again told me to come after 2 weeks.

Now when I once again went to the Immigration Department, Farwaniya, they said that there was nothing for Pakistanis yet. What does this mean. Why did the government say that the window for visas for Pakistanis is open. Is the issuance based on Wasta or is the ban still in place?

I don’t know what to do, but if they don’t want to give the visas they should clearly tell us about it and not play with our emotions.

Name withheld
Answer:
It is not a question of playing with the emotions of the expatriates or any of those nationalities on whom the ban has been lifted.
According to the latest information, the Immigration Department as received thousands of applications for dependent visas from different nationalities and has yet to decide on the people who will be granted the visas.
The Interior Ministry says it is studying all the cases and will issue a decision soon but it has not laid down any timeframe nor said who all will be granted the visas. You just have to wait.
We understand that you have been waiting for such a moment for the last three years but a few more days could possibly see the Immigration Department arrive at a decision in your favor.
