Strict check on foam sale PM help sought

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21:  The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has warned against the sale of spray foam during the National and Liberation holidays, reports Al-Nahar daily quoting sources.

Sources confirmed the ministry has formed several teams of inspectors tasked to check cooperative societies and other establishments to ensure they don’t sell such harmful products.

Meanwhile, cooperative Societies Union Chairman Abdulaziz Al-Samhan has appealed for the intervention of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak to stop the distribution of spoilt food products in the local market, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Speaking on the sidelines of the signing of an agreement between the union and Kuwait General Relations Society, Al-Samhan stressed the need to establish a specialized laboratory for testing food products in accordance with the international standards.

Al-Samhan revealed, “We received calls from the Ministry of Health on the alleged discovery of salmonella in the chicken sold by a famous company but no laboratory results have been presented to prove the product is infected with salmonella.”
