EPA has 14 fixed and mobile stations for checking quality of air No direct impact from garbage disposal sites: Dr Al-Enezi
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: The Environment Public Authority (EPA) has 14 fixed and mobile stations for checking the quality of air in different areas, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting Director of the Public Relations and Environment Awareness Department in the authority Dr Khalid Al-Enezi.
Al-Enezi explained the garbage disposal sites have no direct impact on the air that people breathe as recorded by the air quality detection gadgets of the authority. He also stressed the need to strengthen coordination between all institutions dealing with environmental issues. He said the vision of Kuwait is to activate the role of the people in protecting the environment.
According to Al-Enezi, the authority had, so far, organized 108 lectures on the importance of environment protection for different age brackets.
He added the problem in Kuwait is the large volume of household waste as it equals that of Germany and Belgium combined. He attributed the problem to the negligence of the people who have no concern for the environment.
