Qadsia players celebrate after beating Al Arabi 3-1 to win Crown Prince Cup, Tuesday.
Qadsia win Crown Prince Cup

Qadsia FC defeated Al-Arabi to win the prestigious Crown Prince Cup for the seventh time. The match, played at Kuwait Stadium in Kaifan, was graced by his Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah who representated His Highness the Crown Prince. Qadsia Musaeed Neda opened the score for his team in the 11th minute through a header. Al-Arabi fought back in the second half but were kept at bay by the solid defending of Qadsia back-men.

Taking advantage of the surge forward by the opponent, Qadsia’s right winger Hamad Aman manipulated Al-Arabi’s defence, struck the ball, only to see his effort hit the post. However, the rebound fell to strike Bader Al-Mutawa who coolly slotted in for the second goal. Al-Arabi scored what turned out to be a consolation in the 87th minute. Al-Mutawa shattered any hope of a comeback by Al-Arabi when he scored his second goal of the day.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable of congratulations on Tuesday to Sheikh Kahled Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President of Qadsia Sporting Club, after the team won the Crown Prince Cup. In the letter, HH the Crown Prince valued the great efforts put by the club’s board of directors, managing and coaching staff, as well as the upscale athletic level displayed by the players, wishing them all success in upgrading Kuwaiti sport and hoisting Kuwait’s name in regional and international arenas.
