Specialists in ‘dune buggy’ thefts arrested
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: The Sabah Al-Salem police have arrested two juveniles who specialized in stealing dune buggies (ATVs) and motorbikes, reports Al-Rai daily.
The arrest came when a police patrol on duty in Sabah Al-Salem saw the suspects stealing a motorbike from the garden of a house in the area. They were caught red-handed while putting the bike on the back of a wagon.
They were arrested and taken to a police station and during interrogation they admitted to stealing the bunchy belonging to the son of a senior officer in the Interior Ministry.
The thieves have also admitted to steal expensive ATVs and motorbikes and sell them to campers. They added if they failed to find a buyer they set fire to the stolen property.
Meanwhile, police are looking for five masked men for breaking into a company inside the Shuwaikh Industrial Area and stealing the safe containing money, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to the Egyptian guard the men are all Arabs and he suspects them to be from a GCC country.
He added, all of them were armed with knives and threatened to stab him if he raised an alarm or resisted them.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprints to identify the culprits.
