Wedding vow victim saves honour
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: A 20-year-old Kuwaiti citizen was arrested recently for molesting an Arab girl after promising to marry her.
According to security sources, the victim informed securitymen that the Kuwaiti citizen had followed her while she was shopping at a mall in Salmiya and forced her to take down his mobile number.
When she returned home, she contacted him and he told her he wanted to marry her and his parents are rich. After several calls between them, he requested her for lunch date at a restaurant in Salmiya.
While they were having lunch inside a cabin in the restaurant, he placed his hand on a private part of her body and kissed her.
She tried to run away but when she was unable to, she started shouting and requesting for help from the restaurant employees. Hearing the shouts, they rushed to the cabin but by then, the Kuwaiti suspect ran away.
When the restaurant manager informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior about the incident, securitymen rushed to the location and found the girl sitting inside the restaurant.
After receiving her statement about the incident, they noted the details of the Kuwaiti citizen, using which they arrested him.
A case was registered against him.
6 kilos drugs seized: An Arab national was arrested recently at Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle six kilograms of hashish into the country.
Reportedly, when the man arrived at the airport carrying a bag, Customs officers checked it to find six kilograms of hashish hidden among perfume bottles and frozen meat in a secret compartment.
He was arrested and referred with the items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
Director General of General Customs Department Ibrahim Al-Ghanim appreciated the efforts taken by the customs officers to combat smuggling of such illicit items into the country.
