Bangladeshi steals, recycles, sells used ‘revenue stamps’ cheap
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 7: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department have arrested an unidentified Bangladeshi man for stealing revenue stamps from old transactions, recycling them and selling them at half the original price, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added, the suspect was arrested after a police informer tipped off the authorities about the activities of the suspect.
It has also been reported he was working in collusion with employees in the government who were passing the transactions bearing recycled stamps.
The suspect has been handed over to the authorities for further interrogation.
Iron, copper thieves: Three Asians have been arrested by the Mina Abdullah police for stealing iron bars and copper cables belonging to the Ministry of Public Works, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to security sources someone saw the men entering the ministry store and informed the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior.
Police rushed to the spot and caught the men red-handed.
After the men were referred to the area police station, they admitted to the charge. They also told investigators they had rented a livestock pen for KD 350 a month to store their loot.
Meanwhile, the Jahra police have arrested a five-man gang of Arab expatriates for stealing aluminum doors and tents, reports Al-Anba daily.
According to security sources a police patrol on duty saw the men loading their vehicle with tents near the Abdali farms and when police asked them from where they got the tents and doors, they fumbled with the reply.
During interrogation they admitted to committing thefts. They have been handed over to the authorities.
Drugs with Iraqi: Securitymen have arrested an unidentified Iraqi man for possessing seven fingers of hashish and 140 drug pills, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily added the suspect was taken in custody on the Sixth Ring Road.
Security sources said the man was arrested for speeding and while issuing a citation, the officer discovered the man was abnormal.
The contraband and the suspect have been handed over to the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, an unidentified Kuwaiti man was caught at the Al-Nuwaiseeb border with 90 drug pills has been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the man arrived at the post from a neighboring country and looked confused and in a hurry to get past the customs officers.
He was referred for a thorough search and police found the pills hidden in his clothes.
