KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5:  The Cassation Court has upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeals and sentenced a female doctor to three years imprisonment for prescribing medicine to a pregnant woman who wanted to abort her fetus, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily police acting on information about her illicit activity set a trap for her and caught her red-handed.
The Criminal Court had earlier sentenced the doctor to three years imprisonment and ordered her to pay KD 1,000 in lieu of the sentence. This verdict was overruled by the Court of Appeals.
