Expatriate Mandoub acquitted of kidnap, rape
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Hisham Abdullah acquitted an expatriate who was working as a legal representative (mandoub) of a domestic labor office and was accused of kidnapping a domestic worker, confining her movement and raping her.
According to the plaintiff’s testimony, the suspect had taken her from her sponsor’s house under the pretense of taking her to the company’s accommodation where she was supposed to stay until the company found a new employment for her.
However, the man allegedly took her to his residence where he confined her movement and raped her. She submitted a medical report which revealed that she was pregnant and it had occurred during the period of the incident.
Defense Counsel Lawyer Dalal Al-Mullah faulted the plaintiff’s statement, indicating that it contradicted the reality, especially the period she spent in the man’s residence. She provided evidences which indicated that the woman was pregnant before the incident.
