Corrupt Labor employees to face prosecution: Dousari Asst undersecretary makes surprise visit to CLD
KUWAIT CITY, Jan 31: Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Sector in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Jamal Al-Dousari has said the ministry will not hesitate to refer employees to Public Prosecution if proven any of them has taken a bribe.
Al-Dousari made the declaration on his surprise inspection round to the Capital Labor Department (CLD) where he inspected the work procedure of the units and sections. He pointed to shortage of employees as the main obstacle the department is facing, and added that other ministries are also facing similar problems. He indicated the ministry is aware of the problem and has addressed the Civil Service Commission to hire 400 employees for the labor section to cover the shortage, noting the first batch of employees has been distributed across various labor departments.
Responding to the issue of bribe changing hands in the ministry’s departments for transactions to be completed, Al-Dousari affirmed his doors are always open to receive complaints of any kind, on condition that clear evidence is provided to prove allegations. He reaffirmed the ministry does not allow transgressions of this nature to go on, and anyone caught taking bribe will be referred to Public Prosecution right away.
