‘5,000 employees have no records with ministry’ April 4 deadline set for 3,000 firms to update files

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Some 3,000 companies in the country have yet to update their files at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and 5,000 employees registered under these companies have no records with the ministry, reports Al-Seyassah daily quoting Assistant Undersecretary for Labor Sector Jamal Al-Dousari as saying.

He added the employees in question will not to be able to carry out any administration transaction at the ministry because their companies have failed to update their files.

At a press conference, Al-Dousari noted the ministry has set April 4, 2013 as deadline for the owners of these companies to update their files, and after that, all files which have not been updated will be canceled, and the companies will no longer be able to complete transactions unless they open new files.

He stressed that 95 percent of the companies have been updated using the automation system, so the ministry is calling upon companies which have yet to update their files to do so before deadline. Otherwise, they will be rendered incapable to carry out transactions on behalf of their employees.
