KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Mathew Jacob and Juvy Caina combined well and showed a lot of skills to jump up two spots to take the lead at the end of the Elimination Round in the top-most category of the Filipino Badminton Club in Kuwait’s (FILBACK) New Year’s Cup 4-Day Tournament at the Al Nasr Sports Club this week. When the Elimination Round came to end this week, Mathew and Juvy were the best in Level A, Cesar Isidro and Derry Perriad dominated Level B, Berlyn was at the top in Higher Mixed B, Maricel Luman-ag led Lower Mixed B, Derek Noronha took the top spot in Higher Mixed C, Addy Diaz finished way ahead of the pack in Lower Mixed C, Ato Rusnanto was the best in Higher Mixed D and Maria Amor Abayon played very well to finish as leader of Lower Mixed D.

Level A
In this week’s games, Mathew and Juvy hammered Ajma and Sherwin 21-15, 21-14, before they tamed Jess and Harinath 21-17, 21-7, and overwhelmed Nestor and Arjay 21-19, 21-12 while Vasu and Mammon outlasted Roy and Sandy 21-13, 18-21, 21-8, and overpowered Nato and Gary 21-9, 21-17.
