Homeless, ‘ill’ woman found on Salmiya beach with starving kids

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: An unidentified woman and her two children who were in pathetic condition due to hunger and lack of sleep have been referred to a Psychiatric Hospital, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
The woman was seized by the Hawalli police when she was alone with the children sitting on a bench at a beach in Salmiya.
The children looked feeble and during interrogation she told police she is a divorcee and has no house to live in.
She added she survived on excess food discarded by beachgoers. When police checked on her records, they discovered she was telling the truth but what she did not tell police was that she has a file at the Psychiatric Hospital.
The children have been handed over to the family and the woman admitted to the hospital.

2 held snapping sites: The Ahmadi police have detained two Kuwaitis for allegedly taking pictures of oil installations in Ahmadi, reports Al-Shahed daily.
After initial interrogations, the men have been handed over to the concerned authorities.
Police have reportedly seized from the men a laptop computer, a flash memory and hi-tech cameras.

Man gets murder threat: Police are looking for an unidentified person for threatening to kill a Kuwaiti man and doing harm to his family, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The victim has filed a complaint with the Hawalli Prosecution accusing a compatriot of threatening to kill him if he does not withdraw a case which he has filed against him.
The complainant said the threat came after the court ruled in his favor and ordered the suspect to pay him KD 448,000.
The complainant said earlier the man had attempted to kidnap his son while he was on his way to a pharmacy.
At that time it was reported unidentified persons attempted to bundle him in their vehicle but he managed to escape from them.

Guard turns thief: Police have arrested an Egyptian man working as a security guard at a project in Allayyah for allegedly stealing copper cables worth KD 20,000 with the help of an unidentified accomplice, reports Al-Rai daily.
The man is then said to have sold the goods to half the original price for a shop in Amghara.
When the theft was discovered the owner of the project pointed a finger of accusation at the guard and he was whisked away for interrogation.
The daily added at first the guard denied the allegation, but under pressure caved in and admitted to the charge. He later guided police to his partner.
The two men have been referred to the authorities.

Shoppers harassed: Police have arrested an Arab man for consuming alcohol and harassing shoppers inside a well-known mall along the Arabian Gulf Street, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
When someone called the Operations Department of the Ministry of Interior police rushed to the spot and took the man in for interrogation.
He has been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control.

Stabber detained: Police have arrested an unidentified person for stabbing an Iranian mechanic in the back and chest inside the Shuwaikh Industrial Area following an argument, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
The mechanic has been admitted to the Sabah Hospital and the suspect to the area police station for questioning.

Man held with pills: Police have arrested a young Kuwaiti man for possessing 100 narcotic pills and referred him to the authorities, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to security sources a police patrol saw the man toying with his vehicle while parking near a school. When the patrolmen drove by, he looked confused and police asked to body search him.
Two charges have been filed against the man - possessing drugs and driving without a licence.

'Havoc' at airport: The Kuwait International Airport police have arrested a citizen who is believed to be in his 30s for what the authorities called 'disturbing' visitors, reports Alam Alyawm daily.
According to security sources the man was taken into custody for shouting and harassing visitors for no reason.
The man appeared disoriented and police have reportedly seized pieces of hashish and drug consuming tools from his possession.

KD 35,000 dud cheque: Police are looking for an unidentified person for issuing a dud cheque for KD 35,000 to a Kuwaiti man, reports Al-Rai daily.
A case has been filed at the Jahra Police Station. The daily did not give more details about the issue.

Nugra cafe robbed: Police are looking for an unidentified burglar who allegedly broke into a café in Nugra and stole KD 1,000 cash, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted the fingerprints to identify the culprit.
