Major construction tenders soon: Safar Project part of Dev Plan

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 17, (KUNA): Kuwait Minister of Public Works Dr Fadhel Safar announced Monday that his ministry is preparing to put up tenders for a plethora of projects soon.

“The tenders will be announced officially immediately after the completion of the designs of projects,” Minister Safar said in exclusive statements to KUNA.

He pointed out that the projects include the third phase of the maintenance, restoration and upgrade of the First Ring Road; construction works and restoration of roads in Al-Fahahel commercial zone, the eastern area of the City of Jahra, Doha area, Cairo Road, the Second Ring Road, Damascus Road, Third Ring Road and Jaber Al-Ahmad City, Fifth Ring Road, Nawaseeb Road and East of Sulaibikhat.
“The Ministry works to upgrade all Kuwait’s roads in line with a plan approved by the Municipal Council and the Amir,” Dr Safat told KUNA.

He unveiled another package of construction tenders across the nation.

The projects includes the maintenance, restoration and upgrade of Maternity, Ibn Sina, Alrazi, Pediatrics hospitals; Al-Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kaber Governorate’s HQs; Arabization of Health Sciences Center and New Information Ministry buildings.

There will be also tenders on the restoration and upgrade of Kuwait International Airport’s Terminal 2; Al-Farwaniyah Cultural Center; buildings of the ministries of public works and electricity, Borrowing and Lending Bank branches as well as the compounds of private schools in Fintas, Jahra, Hawali, Dr Safar disclosed.

The ministry will announce tenders for the construction works and upgrade of General Directorates of Police of the country’s six governorates; construction of malls for Gernada, Abu Futaira, Al-Funaitees neighborhoods; Kuwait Medical Institute and court buildings of Hawalli, Farwaniyah and Jahra governorates; overhauling the New Justice Ministry HQs and Family Courts in Jahra and Assemah governorates.
There will be also tenders for overhauling of ministries complexes in Jahra governorate, the general authority for juvenile affairs in Mirqab, Jahra; Youth Theater in Al-Ardiya neighborhood, Civil Information Authority buildings in Jahra, Al-Ahmadi; and the Ministry of Al-Awqaf and Islamic Affairs building in Arqae neighborhood.
“The majority of these projects are part of the Kuwait’s State Development Plan,” Dr Safar said, adding that the Ministry is eager to implement the state development plan on time.
He added that the Ministry is exerting strenuous effort to accelerate the pace of the execution of the State Development Plan projects.
Dr Safar noted that the private sector is having a lion share in the state development plan projects.
