Kuwaiti shooters to be honored

Kuwaiti shooters who qualified for the London 2012 Olympics are to be rewarded on a monthly basis, the Kuwait Shooting Club said on Monday.
The monthly allowance will be given to the shooters until the London games start and will be added to the semi-pro sum the shooters are already receiving, the club’s Board Secretary Obaid Al-Osaimi said in a statement.
Shooters Fehaid Al-Daihani (men’s double trap), Abdallah Al-Rasheedi (men’s skeet), Talal Al-Rasheedi (men’s trap) and Maryam Erzougi (women’s 10m air rifle) all qualified for the London Olympics, after winning a gold, five silver and one bronze medals in the Asian Shooting Championship recently held in Doha.
The Kuwaitis will look forward to the London games with optimism, having already bagged one bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics, which went to Fehaid Al-Daihani. (KUNA)
