Over 200 homos, lesbians held in countrywide Net cafe raids Drugs found on Kuwaiti

KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department during an extensive campaign at Internet cafes and suspicious places in the six governorates have arrested 215 young homosexuals and lesbians of various nationalities, reports Al-Anba daily.

A security source said 30 low rank officers took part in the campaign and some of the arrested persons are believed to be residence law violators and others wanted by law for committing petty crimes or on civil charges and yet others for gambling.

The violators have been referred to the authorities.


Drugs found on Kuwaiti: A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested by a team of patrolmen on routine duty in Khaitan area with a sachet of heroin plus other drug substances in his possession, in addition to 20 bullets, machine gun, pistol and sharp objects.

Apparently, the officers came across the suspect late at night and asked him to pull over for checking. Security sources said he couldn’t provide his Civil ID card when they requested, claiming he lost all personal documents, including his vehicle registration book.

Later on, the officers discovered he was involved in financial offenses when they checked his name on computer. A search was conducted on him and they found the contraband. He was referred with the items to Public Prosecution.
