Woman harassed; Molested

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 13: An Asian woman tried to commit suicide by consuming large number of pills inside her sponsor’s house in Andalous.
According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from a Kuwaiti woman about her housemaid’s suicide attempt, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and referred the Asian woman to Farwaniya Hospital.  During investigations, they discovered that she has some family problems in her country. A case was registered against her.

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti woman working at a government office filed a case recently at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Police Station against a Kuwaiti citizen accusing him of harassing her.
She informed securitymen that the suspect contacted her, requesting for a love affair with her. She had switched off her mobile phone and when she switched it on later, she was shocked to note that he had sent immoral pictures and love messages to her.
Securitymen took down details of the suspect and discovered he is a Kuwaiti citizen. A case was registered against him and investigations are ongoing to arrest him.

Former MP Ahmad Al-Saadoun also has called on all human rights organizations and people interested in children’s rights to protest such repressive police behavior and insult to children.

Former MP Ali Al-Deqbasi said chaining children shows the cruelty, arrogance and indifference of state agencies and abuse of power. A number of lawyers are of the opinion that handcuffing children is a violation of international convention and rights of children.
 

Woman molested: Police are looking for an unidentified individual for molesting a young Kuwaiti woman, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source said the woman in her complaint to the Nugra Police Station said the suspect approached her and asked for help.
The complainant added she gave the ‘beggar’ two dinars and as she walked to her car, the man touched her body and escaped when she screamed for help.

‘For a few days’: An unidentified divorced woman has filed a complaint with the Hawalli police accusing the sponsor of her father of blackmailing her, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily.
In her complaint, the woman said the sponsor called her several times and offered to marry her ‘for a few days’ if not he has threatened to cause her father harm.
The sponsor will be summoned for interrogation.
