Cabinet reviews progress in health sector over last 3 mths MoH expands capacity of several hospitals, centers

 KUWAIT CITY, Feb 12, (KUNA): The Cabinet reviewed here Tuesday a report by the Ministry of Health which focused on the progress of the country’s health sector in the past three months.

After the Cabinet weekly meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah said that Minister of Health Dr Mohammad Al-Haifi briefed the Cabinet on the ministry’s accomplishments in the previous months.

He indicated that the minister of health pointed out that emergency centers in the public health sector have increased by one clinic per hospital and health-center.

The health minister told the Cabinet that a number of healthcenters have extended their operations to work around the clock, said Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, adding that the Health Ministry has expanded the capacity of several hospitals and health clinics to better accommodate patients.

The opening of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Urology Center and specialized health clinics in the country as well as establishing a twitter account for the Health Ministry was also mentioned in the Ministry’s report delivered by Dr Al-Haifi, said Sheikh Mohammad.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammad said that the Cabinet reviewed a letter addressed to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from Bangladesh President Zillur Rahman. The letter focused on bolstering bilateral relations in all possible domains.

The Cabinet also discussed issues pertaining to parliament and its agenda as well as developments in the region and the world, said the official.
