Kuwaiti involved in KD 10,000 financial fraud case arrested Gunshot fired at traffic dept vehicle

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: A Kuwaiti citizen who was involved in a financial fraud case worth KD 10,000 was arrested recently in Salmiya.
According to security sources, while Hawally securitymen were patrolling Salmiya, they suspected a German-made vehicle and stopped it for investigations. They checked the details of the driver and discovered he is a Kuwaiti citizen in his 40s involved in a financial fraud case worth KD 10,000 filed by a company. He was arrested and referred to the Civil Sentences Enforcement Department for necessary legal action against him.

Patrol car fired at: An unknown individual fired a gunshot at a vehicle affiliated to the Traffic Control Department recently in Jahra, shattering the back window of the vehicle, reports Al-Jaridah daily quoting informed sources.
They said no casualties resulted from the incident and investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspect who apparently tried to shoot at the speed camera that was fixed on the vehicle.
Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs of Ministry of Interior Mustafa Al-Za’abi affirmed that a team of securitymen was formed for investigations and to arrest the suspect. He condemned such criminal acts which endanger the lives of people.

Couple sued: A military officer filed a case recently against a Kuwaiti citizen and his wife, accusing them of insulting him.
According to security sources, while the officer was in Maidan Hawally, he requested the citizen and his female passenger for their identification documents.
However, the Kuwaiti citizen refused to hand over his passenger’s documents, informing the officer that the passenger is his wife. When the officer insisted for her Civil ID, the citizen insulted the officer. The officer then rushed to the nearest police station and filed a case against them.
Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti citizen filed a case against an unidentified individual for selling a faulty vehicle to him after guaranteeing that it is fully functional.
He informed securitymen that he had purchased the vehicle from the seller who assured that it is working perfectly. However, after he transferred the vehicle in his name, he discovered the vehicle had a mechanical failure. When he contacted the seller, the latter refused to take back the vehicle and return his money.

Travel ban issued: An unidentified Egyptian man who discovered that a travel ban has been imposed on him was shocked to find someone stole his ID and purchased two telephone lines, reports Al-Shahed daily.
In his complaint to the Salhiya Police Station the man said someone stole his ID and purchased the phones.
He also said the monthly telephone bills have accumulated without his knowledge. The case has been handed over to the e-crimes department of the Ministry of Interior.

Men, women held: The Highway Police Patrol has arrested five people — three young Kuwaiti men, a compatriot woman and another woman from unidentified GCC state, reports Al-Rai daily.
The suspects were arrested on the Chalets Road on suspicion. When the police patrol ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over, the patrolmen saw the men and the young women laughing and giggling.
While checking their IDs, police found all of them were under the influence of either alcohol or drugs because they got the smell of alcohol from the car.
The police then searched their vehicles and found two bottles of imported alcohol and a small bag containing white substance (kind of drug) in addition to drug consuming tools.
The suspects and the contraband have been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control.
