Customs ‘foil’ Indian trucker’s bid to smuggle in 1-1/2-kg drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: An unknown individual waylaid an Indian expatriate recently in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and stole his wallet, which contained KD 33 and his Civil ID.
According to security sources, the Indian expatriate filed a case at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station and informed securitymen that the suspect stopped him while he was on his way to his flat in the area. The suspect attacked him and robbed him of his wallet, which contained KD 33 and his Civil ID, after which he ran away.
The description of the suspect was noted and investigations are ongoing to arrest him.

Indian trucker arrested: The Abdali customs officers have taken into custody an Indian trucker for allegedly attempting to smuggle into the country one-and-a-half kilos of narcotic substance, reports Al-Shahed daily.
The daily quoting security sources said the substance was neatly hidden inside a secret location inside the truck.
The daily added the driver arrived at the Abdali border post with goods for a local company.
After all the procedures were completed the customs officer ordered his truck to be thoroughly checked because he found the trucker appeared nervous.
The drugs were found hidden in the secret location in the cabin and during interrogation the man admitted to the charge.
He has been handed over to the General Department for Drug Control.

Securitymen raid illegal liquor factory, 3 arrested : Three Asian expatriates were arrested recently for running an illegal liquor factory inside their apartment in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
According to security sources, when Farwaniya Security Director Major General Abdul Fatah Al-Ali received information about three Asian expatriates manufacturing and selling liquor to their compatriots, he formed a team of securitymen to observe the apartment and sent an undercover agent to the suspects to purchase liquor.
While the undercover agent was purchasing the liquor from one of the suspects, securitymen closed in on the latter and arrested him.
Having received permission from Public Prosecution, the securitymen raided the apartment and arrested two other suspects. Securitymen confiscated 102 bottles of locally brewed liquor, equipments used for manufacturing liquor and barrels filled with locally brewed liquor.
The suspects were referred with the items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
